French Florist is always looking to add to our bag of floral design tricks, which is why International Floral Distributors trend report for 2018 is something we're excited to cover. It's both design inspo and a peek into what everyone will be talking about when it comes to flowers next year.

Of the four trends identified, we're loving 'Incarnation of Earth's Elements,' which may be a cumbersome mouthful, but we assure you, the look itself is anything but.

We're calling it 'modern nature' instead, and believe that captures its essential spirit. Think organic minimalism, a way of showcasing nature in our homes in an unfussy and yet artful way. Pieces that look like living sculptures, columns of flowers like a color wheel . . . this is what the style is about. You can see it reflected in our An Elegant Explosion of Colorful Blooms. An Elegant Explosion of Colorful Blooms - French Florist

River rock makes up an earthy base for a scape of bright flowers (another huge trend for next year), which present themselves in a linear way. Another aspect of this look is that geometry is well represented, whether that's in an arrangement's shape, the vessel it resides in or in the additional decor presented alongside it. The effect feels intentional, and yet restrained. The focus is on the flowers and other organic elements, emphasizing their striking beauty. We'll be working this look all year long and beyond.
